The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) is the only national not-for-profit organization in the country dedicated to:
- Expanding public education, awareness and the prevention of eating disorders.
- Promoting access and providing referrals to quality treatment for those affected.
- Providing support for individuals and families.
- Supporting state legislative and advocacy efforts for access to treatment.
- Supporting research for the prevention, treatment and cure of eating disorders.
Many of the world’s leading physicians, therapists, nutritionists, educators and researchers support and contribute to the work of NEDA and the communication of its message.

- National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (Feb. 24- March 1, 2008)
- Information and Referral Helpline – 1-800-931-2237. Since its inception in 1999, NEDA has referred more than 50,000 people to treatment.
- Information clearinghouse on the Web at www.NationalEatingDisorders.org. The NEDA website tallies more than 40 million hits annually.
